What CloudBackup does with your data – in short: nothing but back it up.
This privacy policy applies to the Mac app CloudBackup. Your visit to this website is covered by the xvision.solutions privacy policy. Help and contact details are on the support page.
In short
CloudBackup does not collect, gather or transmit any data. The app has no user account, no advertising, no analytics or crash-reporting services and no tracking. Everything CloudBackup does happens on your Mac and on the drive you selected.

What the app processes on your Mac
CloudBackup reads the files in the OneDrive folders you grant as a source and copies them to the external drive you choose as the destination. The source is never modified. In doing so, the app processes file names, sizes, modification dates and checksums. This information is stored in a catalogue on the destination drive and serves only to detect changes and deletions.
What is stored locally
The app's protected area on your Mac holds: your profiles and settings, the backup history, the log, the access grants for source and destination (macOS security-scoped bookmarks) and the language you chose. This data never leaves your Mac. It is deleted when you remove the app together with its data. The backups on the drive remain until you delete them yourself.
Network and third parties
CloudBackup does not open any internet connection itself and sends nothing to Xvision Solutions or to third parties. If a OneDrive file exists only in the cloud, Microsoft's OneDrive app downloads it when macOS asks for it; Microsoft's terms apply to that. CloudBackup is not affiliated with Microsoft. So that you can control CloudBackup with Siri and in Shortcuts, the app tells macOS the names of your profiles; Apple processes them under Apple's privacy policy. When you download the app from the App Store, Apple processes data under Apple's own privacy policy; we have no influence on this.
Notifications and launch at login
The app creates notifications locally on your Mac; they are not sent through a server. Launching at login is optional and can be switched off in Settings at any time.
Security and your rights
The backup on the drive is not encrypted unless you encrypt the drive yourself (recommended). Because CloudBackup transmits no personal data to us, we hold no data that we could disclose, correct or delete for you. Please send privacy questions to office@xvision.solutions.
Legal basis, supervisory authority and language version
This privacy policy is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, takes the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) into account. Because CloudBackup transmits no personal data to us, we as the provider do not process users' personal data. You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority: in Switzerland with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, German abbreviation EDÖB), in the EU with the supervisory authority where you live. The German version is authoritative.
